Cute as a button jewellery

I have been very lucky to have some jewellery sent to me by the lovely lady, Simone at cute as a button jewellery! All her stuff is hand made by her and has been running since 2010!

I was sent two items, a lovely bow neclace and a pair of union jack button studs - obviously very now, with the jubilee and the olympics coming up everyone is feeling very british at the moment =]

The cameo bow neclace £6.00 -

I wore this to work and got complimented a few times by a couple of different people, it is just so cute! As you can see from the picture it is a reasonable size and the chain is a nice collar sort of length so it does hang a bit like you are wearing a bow tie which I think is perfect!

Union jack button stud earrings £2.00 -

As I said earlier these are perfect at the moment with all things british being very on trend! I shall be wearing these friday for the jubilee celebrations! They are great if you want to just add a bit of union jack to your outfit instead of going all out! As you can see from the picture they are a lovely size not too small or too big for your ear lobe.

Glossybox May 2012 1st birthday edition

I got my very first Glossybox on Wednesday and it was their anniversary edition which was awesome for me as it was also my birthday so I share my birthday with Glossybox !!! They are celebrating their success with their very first birthday!
It so exciting getting a box and not knowing whats going to be inside, and its was packaged really well and looks so pretty. I still cannot find my charger for my decent camera ;( so I may have to buy a new one which sucks, so for now I am afraid I can only take photos with my phone so I tried my best to get the best pictues I could to show you all what I had.

Here is what I had inside my box!

Eldora false lashes
Perfume samples from Lolita Lempicka

Shower and bath gel by Noble Isle
Collection 2000 eyeliner gel in Gold

Neals yard rehydrating rose daily moisture cream
I have tried the moisture cream and it smells vey pretty, I don't think it really did much for my skin as it didn't really sink in very well on my particular skin and so it felt too oily for me but I will use it again when it gets colder and I am prone to get more dry skin on my face because I think it will benefit me more then.

I have also tried the shower gel which smells really really nice! I want to try it in the bath next to see what its like then but I was very happy with that.

I also tried the perfume samples, they both smell nice, the purple one is more a floral scent and the white one has a sweeter smell to it. The only thing I found was they wore off quite quickly when I wore them to work but because the scent is quite light it makes for nice perfume for the daytime so its just a case of re=spraying later in the afternoon.

I am already looking forward to the next box for June!

Thanks for reading!!!

Style Icon: 3 - Mia Farrow

Mia Farow was the main reason why I chopped all my hair off in March! I havent posted a picture of my hair really really short on here as it was before I started blogging on here properly but it was as short as you can get just like Mia's in the 1960s when she was at her peak in the movie Rosemary's Baby, one of ym favourite movies of all time! I absolutly love the whole look she had with the short boy crop, combined with pretty little dresses and shoes! She was also famously married to Frank Sinatra and Woody Allen!

Yon Ka

I have been on the look out for lovely new skincare and body treatments, as I said in a previous post I have one particular brand that I love and so I really wanted to try some new brands and see what else was on offer.

I was very lucky to have 2 samples sent to me by a lovely PR lady who has been very generous to me and let me try some new products.

First of all I would like to say that I am very impressed, these are very high standard, luxery items and smell absolutly gorgeous!

Yon Ka describes itself as a specialized brand at the forefront of phyto-aromatic treatments, with extensive knowledge in products and treatments, combining expertise, effectiveness and well-being. They have celebrity fans including - Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba, Madonna and Jennifer Garner!
Anything Angie uses to get her great skin is a winner for me straight away!

I was sent two items as I said, the Yon Ka Vital defense anti-age face cream and the Phyto bain bath oil. Both came in very generous bottles and you really don't need to use much so they will last a really long time.

The Yon Ka Vital defense anti-age face cream* -
This is absolutly gorgeous! The scent is very citrusy - I think it smells like lemon but I asked the BF to smell it and he thought it was tangerines, whichever one, it is lovely.
I have been using it since it arrived, day and night and so far I have felt my skin become tighter around the eyes, although I am in my 20s this is my main problem area that is not a big deal right now but thats the point of anti-age, to prevent anthing getting worse and I really can see this puffyness around my eyes getting worse with age, so this is the time to start using products like these.
It also makes my skin feel so silky and beautiful and it lasts all day. Yesterday I put some on under my make up before work (I let it sink in first), and a few hours later I felt my skin and it still felt lovely.

The Yon Ka phyto bain bath oil* -

I have used this bath oil twice since it came in the post on the weekend and straight away I could smell the strong aromatic scent coming from the bottle when I took it out of the box. It is very much a spa treatment item and you only need to use one capful to get a lovely relaxed bubble bath.
The instructions say that when used with other products from the range such as body creams etc you can get different effects from the oil. So for example if you have aching legs, using the bath oil and then the body cream straight after in a massaging way can help with that. There is a list of all the different things you can do.
I didnt do any of that I just had a bubble bath but I did rub the bubbles into my skin and it really made my skin so soft and silky and the aromatic oils made me feel very relaxed.
This is quite strong and I would say if you have sensitive skin to maybe try a smaller amount, my BF had a bath with the oil and he found that it was drying on his skin which was the opposite to me but it wasnt a problem as he just needed to put some body lotion on and he was fine. I personally did not get dry skin from the oil.

They are about to release a new range of skincare products so I am really looking forward to that if these two items are anything to go by!

Twiggy!!

I love these pictures of Twiggy doing her make-up!

ASOS wishlist May 2012

I love ASOS, especially at the moment there are so many pretty colours around and I love that they always have free delivery on everything! It is my birthday on the 23rd May and so I always get excited about birthday night outfits and summer clothes to get around this time!

Here are a few of my favs at the moment, so first up some evening items that would be lovely in the summer evenings -

Next up some lovely daytime items, including raybans (although there will be plenty of places to get your mittens on some less expensive versions of these but I just love the style of these ones) and also ASOS have some lovely shopper bags at the moment which are great for carrying nick nacks around in or if you live in Wales as I do, having handy for putting your shopping in and saving the pennies on the carrier bags! -

Style Icon: 2 - Sienna Miller

I have always loved Sienna Miller, she was famously known for her boho look back in the early-mid 2000's and I absolutly loved her as Edie Sedgwick in the movie Factory Girl. Her hair and make up always looks effortless and if I am going on a night out or thinking of festival looks, Sienna is usually one of the top celebs that I would think of for inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by my blog =]

Some of my favourite beauty products

I am looking at trying some new beauty products soon and I thought I would post about some of my favourites that I use time and time again just to start me off.

So the first would be a blog classic I guess, the Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser, instant boost tonic and skin repair moisturiser. I know alot of people have blogged about this and there is a reason for this, because it is amazing. I have combination skin and so sometimes it can get too dry and other times too oily. This product, the three combined, works so well for me. I hardly get any spots, I got complimented on how youthful and fresh my skin looked about a week after using it day and night and it makes my skin feel so silky and smooth.  It has a lovely soft floral scent to it which I love but there might be some of you who prefer unscented products so maybe go and try a sample first.

I have been using it for just over a year as my main go to on a daily basis and I find it hard to try anything else because I love it so much. I will be trying others soon though as I feel I should give other brands a chance.
My next item is the MAC penultimate liner.
I am big on eyeliner and especially the cat eye flick, when I was in school and couldnt afford to buy more expensive make up and not very often I would always use the classic rimmel jet black kohl. These days I use the liner pens which I find more dramatic and easier to use too.

The MAC liner pen is probably the best one I have found so far, I first bought it as the limited edition wonder woman pen which was around £15.00, then when that one had run dry I tried the cheaper Barry M wink liner pen which is a much cheaper price of £4.59.

That one does the job and is a good alternative, however at the time when I was using it I went to Ibiza and found that it melted on my eye. It is very runny in comparison, doesnt dry as fast and generally doesnt last as long.  Recently I discovered a better cheap alternative to the MAC penultimate liner and that is the Soap and glory liner pen. It drys just as fast as MAC and also lasts all day. I still buy the MAC one every now and again when I can afford to splash out more but for everyday use inbetween I now use the Soap and Glory supercat one, which works just as well. You can get the Supercat liner from most boots stores at £6.00.

I will post some more of my favs soon!
